Acknowledgement of Country

I pay my respects to the Dharawal people, it was on their lands I was born, raised and educated. It was there I first felt a call of connection and belonging, but it would be a long time before I would start to listen and answer. As a child of the 90s Australian education model, I learnt more about the first fleet than I did about the traditional custodians of our country. It was not until University when volunteering at an Indigenous Legal conference did I start to listen and learn from Indigenous voices in my region. I honour the traditions of truth telling and the deep search for meaning and connection through my work.

I acknowledge and pay tribute to the Dunghutti people, the traditional custodians of the lands I now live on. I felt called to this magical region where creeks and rivers connect the mountains to the ocean. It is a privilege to live and work on these lands.
